Hungry for pizza? How about a simple, homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza with super fresh ingredients, tailor-made just for you, and ready in 20 minutes or less?
1 recipe Homemade Pizza Dough (or 1 lb store-bought)
1/3 – 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (or store-bought)
2/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup shredded cooked chicken
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup halved cherry tomatoes
small handful of fresh parsley
salt and cracked black pepper to taste
red pepper flakes to taste
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Prepare the homemade pizza dough or store-bought pizza dough according to package instructions. Which likely will mean letting it come to room temperature. Divide the dough and shape into 2 medium round-ish portions and place on parchment lined baking sheet or pizza pan or stone.
Spread the BBQ sauce over each pizza, arrange the cheese, shredded chicken, and red onion. Place into preheated oven; bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted, the sauce bubbling and the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven, top with cherry tomatoes, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
