A grain bowl favorite classic, Takeout Beef and Broccoli, can be quickly and easily made at home.

Units Scale

Cooking Sauce

1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece fresh ginger, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon Sriracha

2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons cornstarch

Beef and Broccoli

1 pound lean ground beef
broccoli florets from 1 large head
2 green onions, sliced thinly
sesame seeds for garnish
cooked rice (1/2 cup per bowl)

Cook rice according to package instructions.

Whisk together cooking sauce ingredients and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef until browned, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Add broccoli, green onions, and cooking sauce. Stir to combine; simmer until the broccoli is tender, about 3-4 minutes. Add cornstarch and water to the skillet and cook until thickened, about 1 minute.

Serve over rice, garnish with red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and more Sriracha if desired.
