Generously spiced, these pork chops pair well with simple sides like a green salad with sliced boil eggs—one of my favorites! or crispy grilled potatoes you can cook in the same skillet. Add some steamed broccoli for a delicious and filling dinner.

Turmeric Pork Chops Ingredients

  • 4 Bone-in Pork Chops
  • Olive Oil,
  • Turmeric and Cumin

How to Make Turmeric Pork Chops

Mix cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the pork chops.

Then, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to pan or skillet and cook about 4 minutes per side, or until the desired degree of doneness. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops.

The FDA recommends cooking pork chops to a minimum of 145°.

How to Add Turmeric to Your Diet

WebMD says, “Over 1 billion people use turmeric daily, and the spice is widely available at supermarkets and health food stores. It’s easy to add to your diet, from rich golden lattes and traditional curries to easy-to-take turmeric supplement.”

I love the pungent flavor that turmeric and cumin add to food. But the health benefits outweigh even the flavor.

Turmeric, for instance, is an incredibly healthy spice. We wrote an article about the health benefits of turmeric a while back. It’s amazing what one teaspoon daily of this savory spice can do!

    1. Hi Nina! I do par-boil the potatoes first and then finish them in the skillet. A couple of times I’ve used fingerling or very small new potatoes and they’ve worked without par-boiling.
