Festive Easy Dinners

Weekly Dinner Meal Plan: Dec 24 – 28, 2018

Merry Christmas everyone!

We made it! To Christmas week — to the end of 2018 — and to week 52 of our weekly dinner plans.

This will be a crazy week for most of us. Regular dinner meals may… or may not happen. And they may… or may not be healthy.

But they will be seasonal, and they will be merry. Because it’s the season after all.

And hopefully, they will be easy. That was our aim at putting together this week’s dinner ideas. (And to share some holiday family traditions with you as well.)

Simple and festive, with the idea of spending less time in the kitchen and more with those you love.

May this Christmas be all you hope for. May you make memories that will last a lifetime.

May we all remember (Stephanie) that perfection is not the goal. But special moments with family and friends are.

Have a very Merry Christmas… and we’ll see you in the New Year!

Be sure to print your dinner planner at the bottom of this post.

Monday: Christmas Eve Holiday Ham

Weekly Dinner Meal Plan // Week 52: Festive Easy Dinners | 31Daily.com

You have to love holiday traditions. In our family, very often, Christmas Eve is dedicated to a mix of family favorites. When we’re serving Prime Rib for Christmas, the Holiday Ham is always reserved and anticipated for Christmas Eve. Along with, always, clam chowder (not sure why), crudites, finger sandwiches, a cheese board… and tons of Christmas Cookies! And then… carols, Papa’s reading of “the Christmas Story” and a family acapella sing of “Carols of the Bells.” Well, and two more. Hanging the stockings and that one coveted present we’re allowed to open! What are your family traditions??

Tuesday: Christmas Brunch and Christmas Prime Rib

Weekly Dinner Meal Plan // Week 52: Festive Easy Dinners | 31Daily.com

Christmas Day is hectic at our house. A large family, lots of kids, and we all still gift to everyone Christmas morning. So dinner needs to be special… but easy. Low prep so we can enjoy the festivities. This Prime Rib is “Meltingly tender and full of flavor, prime rib is a festive main course for a Christmas feast, and it couldn’t be easier to make, leaving you time to enjoy your guests. Here we’ve included two classic accompaniments, both horseradish cream, and a red wine jus, but feel free to make only one or the other if you prefer.” With the prime rib, we’ll serve baked potatoes with all the fixings, fresh Neopolitan Green Beans, and Yorkshire Pudding.

No filling or rolling required in this deconstructed enchiladas. Packed with veggies, perfect for Friday! “Serve this crowd-pleasing skillet supper straight out of the skillet and let everyone add their own toppings for a fun family dinner. Lime wedges, thinly sliced radishes, crumbled cotija cheese, sliced scallions, pickled red onions, and pickled jalapeño slices are all tasty additions.”

A Classic German Dresden Christmas Stollen | 31Daily.com

While there will be Christmas cookies all week long. And it’s hard to imagine another treat — I always make several Christmas Stollen loaves for those rare quiet moments with a cup of tea. Happy sigh.
