Fresh Lemon Ginger Tea is a perfect winter tea. With high levels of Vitamin C and magnesium, it not only boosts immunity but reduces stress, heals, and soothes.
Combine the ginger slices, 1 to 2 lemon slices and water in a saucepan. If you’re adding a cinnamon stick, fresh turmeric, or fresh mint, add that as well. Bring the tea to a simmer and continue to maintain a gentle simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. The longer you steep the ginger, the more intense the ginger flavor will be.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the tea through a mesh sieve into a heat-safe teapot, teacup or liquid measuring cup.
Sweeten the tea with a drizzle of honey and a fresh slice of lemon. Serve warm.
Notes
If you're trying to cut down on kitchen waste you can make this tea from ginger peelings and squeezed lemon halves instead. Simply simmer the tea for a little longer, to taste.
