This 2 minute Instant Pot Oatmeal with apples is a creamy, quick and healthy breakfast. Warmed with cinnamon and sweetened with a sprinkling of brown sugar. Or... a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
In the base of the Instant Pot or pressure cooker, add the chopped apple, oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, water, and a pinch of salt.
Set the pressure cooker valve to sealing and lock the lid in place. Cook on manual high pressure for 2 minutes.
Once the oats have finished cooking, naturally release the pressure for 1 minute before quickly releasing the remaining pressure. Stir to combine and divide into bowls.
Notes
Garnish
Some in the family like to add milk, some don't. Here are some ideas we like to top morning oats:
Raisins
Toasted Coconut
Drizzle of Honey
Drizzle of Maple Syrup
Texture
Mornings at our house are pretty busy -- even when we're working from home. So quick and easy breakfasts are necessary. This quick-cook method is my favorite. However, if you like a creamier, porridge type texture, instead of selecting the manual high-pressure setting, choose the "porridge" setting on the Instant Pot. This will take longer and the apples become more like apple sauce -- but it IS delicious too.
