Make your holiday party special with this easy-to-make Christmas Hummus Wreath. Homemade hummus shaped like a wreath, topped with tomatoes, parsley, feta, and a red pepper bow.
Add the drained chickpeas to the food processor along with lemon juice, tahini, garlic cloves, salt, and ice cubes—process for 5 minutes or until smooth. Taste and add additional salt if needed and more lemon juice if needed.
Spoon the hummus onto a plate in dollops and with the back of the spoon spread onto the edges of the plate to create a wreath shape.
For the Red Pepper Bow
Slice a red pepper in half crosswise. Place the bottom section on a cutting board, cut side down. Slice the rounded bulbs into sections that will become the bow. You will only need 2 sections for the bowl. With the remaining pepper, cut two bow tails and notch the ends with a sharp paring knife or cut one section into an inverted "v" shape as shown in the photos.
Toppings
Sprinkle the hummus wreath with chopped parsley and feta. Place the cherry tomatoes around the wreath and place the bow where you think it looks festive and pretty.
Notes
Storing: The wreath is best served fresh, but it can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. If you're preparing it ahead of time, assemble the hummus on the platter, but wait to add the fresh toppings until just before serving to ensure they stay crisp and vibrant.
Making Ahead: To make this appetizer ahead, prepare the hummus base and toppings separately in advance. Spread the hummus on the platter and arrange the toppings just before serving to keep them fresh and colorful. This can save you time during the busy holiday season!
