How to Make the Hummus Wreath

This is such a simple appetizer recipe to make using mostly pantry ingredients. And it’s simple to make it festive and fun.

Begin by making the hummus, then fashioning a bow from a red pepper, and finally making the hummus wreath.

Step 1: Make the Hummus

Add the drained chickpeas to the food processor along with lemon juice, tahini, garlic cloves, salt, and ice cubes—process for 5 minutes or until smooth. Taste and add additional salt if needed and more lemon juice if needed.

Spoon the hummus onto a plate in dollops, and with the back of the spoon, spread it onto the edges of the plate to create a wreath shape.

Step 2: Make a Red Pepper Bow

Slice a red pepper in half crosswise. Place the bottom section on a cutting board, cut side down. Slice the rounded bulbs into sections that will become the bow. You will only need 2 sections for the bow.

With the remaining sections, cut two bow tails and notch the ends with a sharp paring knife or cut one section with an inverted “v” in the middle.

This Christmas Hummus Wreath is a festive and fun twist on traditional hummus. It features a ring-shaped arrangement of homemade hummus. • Pomegranate seeds
  • Fresh herbs are always a delightful way to enhance the flavors.
  • Olives (I especially like using sliced Greek olives). , herbs, and olives, arranged in the shape of a holiday wreath. It’s perfect as a centerpiece for your holiday spread and can be served with pita chips, fresh vegetables, or crackers.
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Thinly thinly sliced meats like prosciutto for a savory twist.

Thank you for this recipe, Stephanie. I haven’t made it yet but intend to on Christmas Day. Such a different way to serve hummus instead of the regular dip bowl and biscuits…… very festive!
