When the weather is chilly and the holidays are in full swing, sugar cookies often come to mind. In my house, quite frequently!
It’s also the season for sweet and maybe even decadent treats. And this Sugar Cookie Latte is a little decadent. It’s also utterly divine!
Here’s what you need to treat yourself or your friends!
Sugar Cookie Latte Ingredients
- Hot brewed coffee or espresso
- Boiling water (I’m using an electric kettle for quick boiling water)
- Granulated sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Almond extract
- Milk: dairy or non-dairy
- White chocolate chips
Decadent topping? Yes, please!
Top it with sweetened whipped cream (or whipped topping); the kind in the can works just fine; sugar cookie crumbles and holiday sprinkles for a festive touch. And believe me, this latte is festive!
How to Make a Sugar Cookie Latte
First of all, this recipe makes two servings. And sometimes, when I’m restraining myself, the syrup will serve for multiple servings. Just refrigerate it until ready to use.
- Simple Syrup: In a heatproof container, whisk boiling water with the sugar until dissolved. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Froth Milk: Heat milk in a saucepan or microwave, stirring often until it’s steaming, about 3-5 minutes. Froth the milk with a frother or hand blender.
- Make the Latte: Divide white chocolate chips and syrup between 2 large mugs; stir in coffee or espresso and pour frothed milk over the top!
Latte Making Tools
You can make brewed coffee or espresso. I have a handy espresso machine so I generally use that for this latte. Here are the tools I use:
- Electric Kettle I’m making tea all day, so this kettle is in constant use. It boils water quickly, and I need the perfect cup of tea at the temperature.
- Espresso Maker Definitely not top-of-the-line, but it works for a morning latte.
- Hand Milk Frother I have this sitting on my coffee bar for hot chocolate or when I want to add frothed milk to a London Fog Latte.
