If you have 5 minutes, you can make this simple Iced Vanilla Latte at home with no special equipment or even ingredients.

Let’s talk about those ingredients and about the original.

Starbuck’s Iced Vanilla Latte

Starbucks’ describes their vanilla latte like this: “Seriously smooth and subtly sweet Starbucks® Blonde Espresso, milk, ice and vanilla syrup come together to create a delightful twist on a beloved espresso classic.”

The ingredients they use are simple and easy to make at home. Their Iced Vanilla Latte contains ice, milk, brewed espresso, and vanilla syrup.

So let’s talk about the syrup before we get to the Iced Vanilla Latte recipe.

How to Make Homemade Vanilla Syrup

There are many delicious brands of vanilla syrup you can buy at the market.

But if you love making your own, and having it ready anytime you’re craving an Iced Vanilla Latte, it’s easy to make your own. Here’s how:

Vanilla Syrup Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 vanilla bean, split in half

Preparation

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together water, sugar, and vanilla bean. Bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer for 5 minutes to dissolve the sugar.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool and then remove the vanilla bean. Pour into a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate.

Coffee in an Iced Vanilla Latte

An Iced Vanilla Latte is essentially the classic latte served over ice. Use the same coffee you prefer in a warm latte.

For me, I’ve been using Starbucks’ Espresso Roast in my espresso machine. And believe me, that machine gets a daily workout.

But use the coffee or espresso you prefer. I would suggest, though, if you’re using coffee, be sure it’s brewed strongly.

Now for the ingredients:
