There is nothing I love more than a Starbucks run, especially when it includes a seasonal latte. Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Gingerbread Lattes come immediately to mind.

But I’ve also learned to love lattes at home. With fuzzy slippers and my favorite cozy robe.

What You Need to Make a Gingerbread Latte at Home

All that’s needed to make a Gingerbread Latte at home is strong brewed coffee, frothed milk, and a Homemade Gingerbread Latte Syrup. The Syrup will make at least 8 lattes and is stored in the refrigerator.

Pretty easy for a holiday latte at a moment’s notice!

You might also “need” a Christmas cookie to pair with that latte. I recommend our Gingerbread Cookies: German Inspired recipe!

How to Make a Gingerbread Latte

Begin by making the Homemade Gingerbread Latte Syrup. Here’s how:

  1. In a medium-size saucepan, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, water, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  2. Over medium heat, bring the syrup to a slow boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes- stirring occasionally.
  3. Transfer the syrup to a jar or another heatproof container. Shake well before each use. Store in the refrigerator.

To make the latte, follow these steps:

  1. Brew strong coffee or espresso using your favorite method. Into a 12-ounce mug, pour 1/3 cup of coffee or espresso along with 2 tablespoons of the Homemade Gingerbread Syrup.
  2. Froth the milk and pour it into the mug until it almost reaches the top. Spoon remaining milk and optional whipping cream over the top. Sprinkle ground cinnamon or nutmeg and enjoy!
