¾cupgranulated sugar

¼cupmaple syrupor honey
½teaspoonvanilla extract

Instructions
Add cereal to a large bowl and set aside.
Combine the chopped dates, sugar, butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Continue to cook until the dates are soft and the mixture is slighty thickened; about 2 to 2 ½ minutes.
Remove from the heat and add the vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Pour the mixture over the rice bubbles (rice krispies) and stir until they are evenly coated. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth to an even layer with a spatula or a layer of parchment paper.
Let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until cool and set. You can also refrigerate the treats for quicker cooling. Slice into squares with a sharp knife.
