Ingredients

Units Scale

Crust

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13 x 9-in baking pan with foil, sprayed lightly with cooking spray. Leave a bit of foil to hang over the sides.

Combine butter, 3/4 cup softened butter, and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat at medium speed until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press crust evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until the edges are very light golden brown.

For filling:

Combine dark corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla, and salt in a bowl. Mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups pecans and 1 cup chocolate chips. Spread evenly over hot, baked crust. Sprinkle remaining pecans and chocolate chips over the top. Bake 30-35 minutes or until filling is set and knife inserted near the edge comes out clean. Cool completely; refrigerate. Cut into bars.
