Why I Love This Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin

Pork tenderloin is one of my favorite cuts of meat. It’s so versatile, tender, and delicious. From shredded sliders to tacos, wraps, and more.

And while we have a few pork tenderloin recipes on the site that I absolutely love, like our Crockpot Hawaiian Pineapple Pork or Zupan’s Porchetta Pork Tenderloin, this easy recipe is a decided favorite.

Especially when I’m craving Asian-inspired flavors, winter citrus, or simply an easy meal I know the family will love.

Let’s talk about the meat. When you want tender, fall-apart meat, especially pork or inexpensive cuts of meat, the slow cooker is your best friend. When you don’t have time to marinate (or you forget), the crockpot can work its magic and produce a tender, delicious meal with little effort.

It’s true for this recipe too. Plus, the added acidity in the orange juice helps tenderize the meat as it gently simmers in a fragrant sauce. The sweetness lends a beautiful flavor to that sauce that becomes a delicious gravy drizzled over the meat when serving.

It’s a win-win kind of dinner!

And then, everyone has to love a 5-minute prep dinner with 5 ingredients!

Serve over rice with your favorite greens for a simple dinner with delicious flavors!

Cook on high for 2- 2 ½ hours or low for 4 hours, until the pork tenderloin reaches at least 145°F and is fall-apart tender. Remove from the crockpot and let rest for 10 minutes while making the sauce.

Making the Orange Ginger Sauce

Transfer cooking sauce into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the cornstarch slurry, and continue to simmer until it’s as thick as you like. Serve with the pork.

This pork is so versatile that you serve it in so many ways. And, it’s so tender, that it literally falls apart with a bit of pressure from your fork.

For that reason, you can serve it shredded in tacos, wraps, bowls, pizza, or with pasta.

My favorite way is to serve slices of Orange Ginger Pork over steamed rice with a side of broccoli slaw ready-made in the produce section of my market. Then, drizzle the sauce over the top, add slices of orange, a sprinkling of sesame seeds, and orange zest if I’m feeling fancy!
