Fall Scones with a Dash of Cinnamon

If there ever was a flavor that personified fall, it would be cinnamon. With its delicate yet warm fragrance, this versatile spice enlivens our dishes from Apple Cinnamon Scones, to cakes like Apple Spice Bundt Cake. But also savory dishes like pork chops and honey ham.

Origins of Cinnamon

Cinnamon is considered to be the first traded spice from antiquity. Native to Ceylon (Sri Lanka), true cinnamon is found in Chinese writings as early as 2800 B.C. Valued for its medicinal treatments and preservative qualities, it’s an ingredient we use and love to this day.

Leisurely autumn days were made for freshly baked, warm-from-the-oven scones with a cup of strong tea, be it chai tea or British Breakfast tea.

Are you ready to bake? Me too!
