Some days can only be cured by chocolate. And some occasions can only be celebrated with chocolate.
While I dearly love our chocolate recipes, this one has a special place in my heart, because it’s so rewarding for so little effort.
Double Chocolate Skillet Cookie Ingredients
You will find ingredient measurements in the recipe card at the bottom of this post, but here is a quick list of the pantry ingredients you will need:
- Melted butter
- Brown sugar
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda and salt
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Large egg
- Chocolate Chips
How to Make Double Chocolate Skillet Cookies
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 10-inch ovenproof skillet with nonstick spray.
- Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Stir in the egg until combined. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared skillet and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Bake until just set in the center and pulling away from the sides of the skillet, about 20 to 22 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes and loosen the edge. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Slice and serve.
Serving a Chocolate Skillet Cookie
These skillet cookies are perfectly portioned, wedge-shaped cookies that can be dressed up… or down, depending on the mood.
A dollop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce oozing over the sizes, and a sprinkling of chopped nuts dress this oh-so-simple cookie.
Or serve it plain while still warm from the oven, and you’ll get zero complaints! Just be prepared for second servings and, yes, even thirds.
I love skillet cookies for simple treats (with very little leftovers) for family game nights, movie nights, picnics, or just an evening before the fire.
No matter how you “dress” this Double Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie, I guarantee you will love it.
