Here are the ingredients you will need to make this delicious sauce. The exact measurements are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Rhubarb
  • Granulated sugar
  • Lemon juice and zest
  • Cornstarch
  • Butter

How to Make Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce

Add chopped strawberries, rhubarb, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, cornstarch, salt, and butter into a medium-size pan. Stir to combine and heat over medium to medium-high heat.

Bring the strawberries and rhubarb to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened and the rhubarb is soft; 15 to 20 minutes.

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb strawberries about 2 cups, chopped
  • 1 lb rhubarb about 2 cups, chopped in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  • Add chopped strawberries, rhubarb, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, cornstarch, salt, and butter into a medium-size pan. Stir to combine and heat over medium to medium-high heat.
  • Bring the strawberries and rhubarb to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened and the rhubarb is soft; 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and cool.
