Weeknight Dinner Meal Plan: We’re cooking healthy Flat Belly Dinners this week as we prepare for warm summer months to come. Most dinner recipes are 20 minutes or less, all are easy and delicious!

Hurrying through the grocery checkout line, I spotted a magazine with a familiar figure, Dr. Oz, eating a bowl of strawberries, with bold words, “The Best Flat Belly Foods.”

I thought about a year of baking with too few exercise sessions. I thought about sunny days and shedding winter’s cozy bulky sweaters.

In two seconds, I grabbed that magazine and made my way through the line.

Filled with helpful ideas, advice, and knowledge, I spent a week feeding my family flat belly dinners. And they were good!

The magazine stressed, as you might imagine, waking up your metabolism, reducing stress, and helpful tips on getting enough sleep.

This week we’re trying something a little different, making dinners that focus on foods that help fight fat around the tummy. So get ready!

Dr. Oz Flat Belly Foods to Eat

While his list is extensive, here are a few highlights from the magazine:

  • Leafy greens, bell peppers, radishes, corn, carrots, squash, tomatoes, and potatoes
  • Beef, chicken, fish, pork, tofu (extra firm), eggs
  • Hard cheeses like cheddar, feta, or Parmesan
  • Almond milk
  • Bananas, pineapples, berries, grapes, kiwis, lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines
  • Seeds and nuts
  • Wheat and gluten-free bread, pasta, and cereals, corn tortillas, quinoa

Here’s what we’re cooking this week:

Healthy Flat Belly Dinners

Monday’s dinner is light and easy… and takes 5 minutes to make. Choose gluten-free wraps and plenty of leafy greens and peppers.

For Tuesday we’re looking at a simple spinach pasta with crispy pancetta. So good!

Wednesday’s dinner has rave reviews, a handful of ingredients, and super perfect for spring. And, again, it takes minutes to make.

Salmon with Roasted Red Pepper Quinoa salad is on tap for Thursday. I’m prepping the quinoa ahead so dinner will be quick and easy.

Friday’s dinner might surprise you. It looks decadent and delicious… and anything but flat-belly. But it is! And with it comes a fat-burning sauce.

The treat looks equally decadent. It’s a Dr. Oz Flat Belly Chocolate Cake made from a simple box mix.

Chocolate, burgers, pasta? It’s going to be a delicious week and we’ll be getting ready for summer!
