Blueberries are the hallmark of summer. These healthy and delicious berries are chock full of antioxidants, dubbed a superfood, and make just about every meal a bit more yummy. And while we love blueberry pies and pastries, we’re choosing recipes today that are a bit healthier, just as delicious, and that you can eat daily.

“Blueberries are often called a superfood, and for good reason. Their blue hue comes from anthocyanins, compounds that attack cancer-causing free radicals and may even block the growth of tumor cells, according to a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign study. The U.S. Blueberry Council recently answered this question, “How to eat more blueberries.”

When this delicious and healthy berry is in season, there are many ways to enjoy this nourishing fruit. But these healthy ideas aren’t relegated to summer alone. Frozen berries can be enjoyed all year.

They say, “Just one serving of blueberries can help you meet your daily fiber requirement – and you can feel good about eating blueberries every day!”

Blueberries are both healthy and delicious: “In addition to being a good source of fiber, blueberries also contain vitamin C and other valuable vitamins and minerals. One serving – 1 cup or about a handful – contains only 80 calories and is naturally low in fat and sodium.”

Here are 5 Simple Ways to Incorporate Blueberries in Your Daily Diet:
