This quick and easy recipe reminds me of my all-time favorite Berry Trifle Recipe or Strawberry Trifle, which is also a layering of fruit and cream. But this berry parfait is even easier. And, fun and festive as its individually served in glasses or dishes.

Red, White, and Blue Parfait Ingredients
Specific ingredient measurements are in the recipe card below, but here is what you’ll need:
- Fresh berries: I’m using blueberries and strawberries, but feel free to mix it up according to the season and celebration.
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt (or Lemon Greek Yogurt)
- Flavorings: vanilla extract and freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Whipped topping for sweetness and loft
- Mint leaves for serving: although optional, they are so pretty!
Serving Parfait
This recipe is written using six 12-ounce size glasses. But it’s versatile enough to adapt to any container you want to use. I would suggest using glass or a clear dish (even a Mason jar) so you can see the pretty layering of berries and cream.

Red White and Blue Parfait Questions
While Greek yogurt works best for this recipe due to its thicker and creamier consistency, you can substitute regular yogurt if you prefer. Just keep in mind that the texture of the parfait may be slightly different.
Cool Whip or whipped topping adds a creamy and light texture to the parfait. If you prefer, you can use homemade or store-bought whipped cream instead. Just make sure it’s stabilized to maintain its shape. You may also wanted to sweeten your homemade whipped cream made from heavy whipping cream.
Lemon juice adds a tangy and refreshing flavor to the Greek yogurt layer. It also helps balance the sweetness of the other ingredients, enhancing the overall taste of the parfait.
Absolutely! While strawberries and blueberries give the parfait its signature red, white, and blue colors, you can get creative and use other fruits as well. Raspberries, blackberries, or even diced watermelon can be great alternatives or additions to the recipe.
It’s best to assemble the parfait shortly before serving to ensure that the layers remain intact and the fruits stay fresh. However, you can prepare the individual parfaits, cover, and refrigerate up to 1 hour for best results. Or, you can prepare the individual components in advance and store them separately in the refrigerator. Just layer them together right before serving.
