Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2-3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8 x 8 baking pan with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Then add the eggs and vanilla; mix until combined and smooth. Fold in the mashed bananas; stir until combined. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the butter mixture; beat until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spread batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm or room temperature, spread with a little butter.
