Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour

  • Baking powder
  • Salt

Tips on Making Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Chocolate: I like to add dark chocolate mini chips. But if you a semi-sweet fan or milk chocolate fan, by all means, add those!

Bananas: Look for very ripe larger bananas for this recipe. You will need 1 cup of mashed banana.

Slicing the Bread: For the best and cleanest slices, be sure to let the bread cool completely before slicing. Although that is awfully hard to do! I like to use a serrated knife for slicing.

How to Make Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Set aside.

Step 1: Make the Batter

In a medium bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine mashed bananas, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

Stir in the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda just until all the ingredients are combined and there are no dry flour streaks.

Step 2: Pour Batter into Loaf Pan

Transfer batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Step 3: Bake the Bread

Bake 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Cool in the pan 10 minutes before removing the bread to a rack to cool before slicing.

    1. Hi Ruth- add 1 cup of chocolate chips, mini or regular size – and fold them in at the end. I’ll be sure to update the recipe.
