A bit spicy, this flatbread-style pizza is creamy with three cheeses and extra flavorful with roasted-to-perfection broccolini.

It’s so incredibly easy with just a few simple ingredients, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found reasons/excuses to make this pizza! My guys love the spice… I love the broccolini.

Substituting broccoli florets is perfectly fine; try it with the broccolini! There is a difference.

Broccolini is Not Baby Broccoli

You might ask the difference between the more familiar broccoli and broccolini. The Kitchn explains, “While it might look like it, Broccolini is not baby broccoli. This lanky vegetable is a hybrid; first created in 1993, it’s a cross between broccoli and Chinese broccoli. It has small florets, long stalks, and a few small leaves — all of which are edible.”

As to its flavor? “Compared to the bitter flavor of regular broccoli, Broccolini is milder, with a sweet, earthy taste. And while it can be eaten raw, Broccolini is best when cooked. It can be sautéed, steamed, roasted, and grilled.”

  1. This looks wonderful, my daughter and I love to make pizza and we love broccolli on ours. I thought broccolini was baby broccoli, no idea it was a hybrid. Take care.
