Air Fryer Potatoes Ingredients

  • Yukon gold baby potatoes - I prefer skin-on baby potatoes for texture, but also because it’s quicker to prep. For larger potatoes, quarter them into wedges.
  • Olive oil - You can substitute this with any neutral cooking oil, like avocado oil.
  • Spices and Seasoning - I’m using my favorite spice blend of garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning for a warm color and flavor. You can use your favorite spice blend, substitute smoked paprika for even more flavor, or any herbs and spices you have on hand.
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or thyme) - for finishing.

How to Make Air Fryer Potatoes

  1. Step 1: Wash and half (or cut) into even-sized pieces and preheat the air fryer to 380℉. Toss the potatoes with olive oil and the spice blend until they are evenly coated.

  1. Step 2: Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Work in batches if necessary. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through.

Best Tips

  1. Use potatoes of similar size and cut them to the same size. For evenly cooked, crispy potatoes, it’s important that they are about the same size.
  2. Preheat your air fryer. While not all recipes require preheating the air fryer, doing so helps ensure the potatoes cook evenly and become extra crispy.
  3. Don't overcrowd the basket. For the crispiest potatoes, ensure there is room for air to circulate. If you overcrowd the basket, they could steam the potatoes instead of crisping them!
  4. Turn the potatoes halfway through cooking. This easy step helps deliver the crispy potatoes and soft centers!

  • Ranch-Style: Swap Italian seasoning for dried dill and onion powder.
  • Parmesan Potatoes: Toss with grated Parmesan before air frying.
  • Spicy Potatoes: Add cayenne or chili powder to the spice mix.

Leftover air fryer potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Let them cool completely before sealing to prevent moisture buildup. To reheat, bring them to room temperature for about 15 minutes, then return them to the air fryer at 380°F for 4-6 minutes, or until hot and crispy again.
