This recipe was inspired by my favorite (and our reader’s favorite) 2 Minute Greek Yogurt Sauce! But with salty, briny, full-of-flavor dill pickles. And it’s a winner of a dip.

Making it exceedingly perfect for game days! It’s creamy, tangy, and fresh. Healthier than a fried pickle dip, but so delicious you’ll love it equally well.

Plus, it’s SO easy to make in minutes!

Pickle Dip Ingredients

We’re making this dip with a Greek yogurt base, but you could also substitute sour cream if you prefer! Here’s what you need:

  • Plain Greek Yogurt (or sour cream)
  • Garlic cloves (minced or pressed)
  • Fresh dill or you can substitute dried dill if needed
  • Pickle brine or juice (right from the pickle jar)
  • Dill Pickles
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

How to Make Pickle Dip

The base of this dip is sour cream or Greek yogurt. Then, you simply stir in the finely chopped dill pickles, some brine from the jar, minced garlic, fresh dill (or dried), and red pepper flakes. That’s it!

Ready immediately, or you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. And guess what? The flavors continue to mingle, making it even better the next day!

I highly recommend fresh dill over dried because the flavor is heightened quite a bit.

Pickle Dip Serving Suggestions

Notes

  1. Consistency: Adjust the pickle juice to reach your desired consistency. Liquid from Greek yogurt can separate, so go light on the pickle juice at first. Before serving, give it a good stir to incorporate any extra liquid.
  2. Pickle Juice: This dip is especially delicious with pickles brined in garlicky bits and herbs, so when extract the juice, try to add any spices or bits you find!
  3. Dill: Fresh dill adds beautiful and delicious flavor. If you can’t find fresh dill, substitute 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed.
  4. Storing: Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Stir to incorporate before serving and enjoying.
