Air Fryer Chicken Wings

We know we can deep fry chicken wings, and yes, even bake them deliciously. But the air fryer delivers a chicken wing incredibly well. It circulates air in such a way that crisps chicken wings brilliantly… in no time at all.

For this recipe, if you have 16 minutes plus a few extra minutes for prepping (i.e. measuring a couple of spices), you can be serving these chicken wings in no time.

Let’s talk about the air fryer…

The Best Air Fryer?

As you likely know, there are two styles of air fryers. One has a smaller footprint in the kitchen and features a slide-in basket, the other is larger, can cook more food, but also takes up more space.

I’ve used both and currently have the larger style. Honestly, I love both for different reasons.

Last month, the Sur La Table 16-QT Air Rryer caught my eye at Costco and I couldn’t pass it up. So far, it’s working well and I’m liking it a lot.

The Phillips Air Fryer is especially nice for the smaller, slide in baskets. My parents have this style and I enjoy using it at their house.

Can I Bake These Chicken Wings in the Oven?

You can absolutely bake this chicken wings recipe in the oven. It does take longer to achieve crispy skin, but it can be done. Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, flipping the wings half way through.

My guys absolutely love Ranch Dip with these wings, but your favorite BBQ sauce is also incredible. If you’re a hummus fan, the 5 Minute Avocado Hummus Recipe or Quick Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Dip is especially nice too!
