How to Make Oreo Brownies

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9″x9″ pan with parchment paper and set aside.

In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and whisk. Return to the microwave and repeat the process 2 more times. You will still see sugar crystals but the mixture should be glossy.

Cool the butter mixture slightly, then whisk in the eggs, one at a time.

Add in cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla. Fold in flour with a spatula until just combined. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips and Oreo crumbled pieces.

Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle a few more Oreo cookie pieces on top. Bake for 40 minutes and then test to see if the center is set. They will bake anywhere from 40 to 50 minutes, depending on your oven. Let cool completely before cutting into 16 squares.

Tips for Making Decadent Oreo Brownies

Here are a few simple tips to consider when making these brownies.

Use high-quality cocoa powder:
While this recipe contains only a few simple ingredients, the quality of cocoa powder shines through. Use the best you have!

Don’t overbake the brownies:
Brownies are tricky to bake just right. It’s easy to overbake brownies when relying simply on sight alone. I start checking these brownies for doneness at about 30 minutes. The center of the brownies should be “just” set. This means that a knife or toothpick inserted in the center will not come out completely clean.

Cool Completely:
Make sure to let these brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares. These brownies are “fudgy” brownies and will need the extra cooling time to firm up. You can also place the brownies in the refrigerator or freezer to speed up the cooling process.
