Sipping a perfectly sweetened glass of lemonade amidst a fragrant blooming summer garden, in the shade of an old tree, is almost heaven, and certainly, a seasonal must do. With unique and flavorful varieties, the sweetness can last all season long.
Summer Sweet Lemonade
3 cups water
1 cup lemon juice (squeezed from 4-5 lemons)
2/3 cup sugar
Mix together until sugar is dissolved, serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
(Note: if you like your lemonade really sweet, increase sugar to 1 cup. For me, this is the perfect balance of lemon flavor and sweetness.)
Bruise mint leaves in glasses before pouring in Summer Sweet Lemonade. Garnish with mint leaves.
Substitute lime juice in the Summer Sweet Lemonade recipe above (will take about 10 limes) for the lemons and increase sugar to 3/4 cup. Garnish with lime slices.
Add 2-3 drops red food color.
