As September settles into its familiar routines, this week's Mediterranean Diet meal plan keeps dinner wonderfully simple with easy skillet and one-pan meals, plenty of vegetables and seafood, and a fresh harvest salad mid-week.

This Week's Shopping List
This list is planned for about four servings each night. Check individual recipes for substitutions and optional ingredients.
Produce
- ☐ 1 bunch broccoli rabe (or preferred substitute)
- ☐ 1 large leek
- ☐ 4 small fingerling potatoes
- ☐ 1 small fennel bulb
- ☐ 1 large garlic bulb
- ☐ 2 large sweet potatoes, or enough for about 4 cups cubed
- ☐ About 8 cups salad greens
- ☐ 2 avocados
- ☐ 1 cup blueberries
- ☐ 2 limes
- ☐ 3 lemons
- ☐ 1 yellow onion
- ☐ 1 red onion
- ☐ 2 bell peppers, at least one red
- ☐ ½ pound fresh okra
- ☐ 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- ☐ 1 bunch green onions
- ☐ Fresh spinach
- ☐ 1 bunch fresh parsley
- ☐ 1 small bunch fresh oregano
- ☐ 4 large pears
Meat & Seafood
- ☐ 1 pound salmon fillets
- ☐ About ¾ pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
- ☐ ½ pound boneless skinless chicken breast
- ☐ 1¼ pounds large peeled and deveined shrimp
Dairy & Refrigerated
- ☐ Pecorino Romano, about ¼ cup grated
- ☐ Feta cheese, at least ½ cup crumbled
- ☐ 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ☐ Greek yogurt or tzatziki, optional for serving

- ☐ 1 cup pearl couscous
- ☐ 1 cup dry orzo
- ☐ Basmati rice, enough for 3 cups cooked (about 1 cup dry)
- ☐ 4 ounces walnuts
- ☐ ⅔ cup granola
- ☐ 1 (15-ounce) can crushed or diced tomatoes
- ☐ 1 (15-ounce) can Great Northern or cannellini beans
- ☐ 1 jar roasted red peppers
- ☐ ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes
- ☐ Tomato paste
- ☐ Capers
- ☐ Greek or Kalamata olives
- ☐ Dijon mustard
- ☐ About 2 cups chicken stock
- ☐ Balsamic vinegar
