If you love easy seasonal snack mixes, this patriotic Chex mix is one of those simple treats that disappear quickly. Set out a bowl before the burgers (like these firecracker burgers) hit the grill, pack it for a picnic, or portion it into little bags for a festive grab-and-go treat.

Ingredients
Specific measurements are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post, but here is a list of what you'll need:

- Chex cereal (I use Rice Chex to keep the red, white, and blue theme)
- Mini pretzels: You can also use pretzel sticks
- Chocolate Candy: Red, white, and blue M&M's or another patriotic chocolate candy.
- Popcorn: Use freshly popped popcorn or a prepared bag for convenience.
- White Chocolate: White chocolate chips or candy melts for easy melting.
- Red, White, and Blue sprinkles: While this is completely optional, it does add a festive sparkle to the snack mix!
This 4th of July Snack Mix is the perfect addition to a big summer spread. While there will almost definitely be BBQ and more 4th of July desserts than I can count, there needs to be a festive, sweet, and crunchy snack to tide everyone over. Plus, it's a 5-minute treat you can whip up in no time-no baking needed!
If you're a fan of our Christmas Snack Mix, you'll notice I've swapped the marshmallows for popcorn, which adds a slightly healthier, saltier option. If you prefer marshmallows, by all means, use them instead of popcorn.
How to Make 4th of July Snack Mix
In a large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels, popcorn, and M&Ms. Mix them up a bit to evenly distribute.
Step 1: Melt White Chocolate
Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate according to its package instructions in the microwave or over a double boiler or bain-marie.

Step 2: Coat the Chex Mix
Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, drizzle it over the cereal mix and combine it with a spoon or even your hands. Be sure the cereal mixture is evenly coated with chocolate. Melt a little more white chocolate if needed!

Step 3: Let Dry
Spread the mixture onto a large sheet of parchment or wax paper. Add the sprinkles before the chocolate is dry and let sit for 15 to 30 minutes or until the mixture is dry and the chocolate is cool and hardened. Break it into pieces and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
How to Store 4th of July Chex Mix
Store the snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature for several days to a week. Freezer for longer storage!
How to Freeze 4th of July Snack Mix
I store it in an airtight plastic bag in the freezer. I actually like it best right out of the freezer - this way it lasts for a long time without going stale.
