What Makes a Great Mother’s Day Dessert? Something Sweet to Love!
Most moms, including this one, are blessed by thoughtful gestures, by simple things that let her know you are thinking of her on Mother’s Day. That can be a simple hug, a homemade card, a special dinner, or a delicious dessert to sweeten her day!
When selecting a dessert, there are several factors to consider. I love to serve desserts that complement the season, are proven favorites for mom, are simple to make, and are pretty too. Here are a few things I think about when planning a Mother’s Day dessert.
Mom’s Favorite(s) – First, what kind of treats does she love? If you’re not sure, ask them! You might have to press a little (I do with my mom), but if you start giving them suggestions, you will often get a clear direction.
Colorful – When thinking about Mother’s Day celebrations, colorful and beautiful flowers often come to mind. That’s why you’ll see many floral decorations alongside the dessert recipes below.
Seasonal Ingredients – Spring is filled with inspiring and delicious ingredients. Think lemons, berries, like strawberries, even rhubarb (another colorful ingredient). Look for the freshest ingredients you can find!
